Inspired by the well known “Humans of New York”, area resident Lupe Garcia has announced the coming launch of “People of Brownwood”.
Garcia, a life-long Brownwood resident states that the citizens of our community have stories to tell that are bigger and better than New York. “Pictures speak a thousand words, and sometimes you can read an entire person from their expression” stated Garcia in a brief interview with the Examiner this morning. “A short story and a picture that speaks a thousand more words, that’s what we want to do here. Sometimes, we photograph people looking shocked. Other times, they look scared. Lots of times on the weekend, they just look drunk.”
Garcia feels that this project works best because of the spur of the moment, often candid nature of her photographs.
