In a rare non-satirical post, The Examiner is reporting that BISD has called a special board meeting for Tuesday afternoon to include “discussion of the Superintendent’s contract.” While it is certainly not rare for the superintendent’s contract to be discussed, it is very rare for it to come at this time of the year. Could Brownwood ISD be entering a search for a new superintendent this week? You heard it here first!

Agenda for Tuesday’s 1:00 PM board meeting taken from the Brownwood ISD website:

I. Call to Order

II. Roll Call & Declaration of Quorum

III. Invocation

IV. Audience Participation

V. Move to Executive Session (Closed)
A. Pursuant to Texas Government Code Section 551.074, to deliberate the appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline, or dismissal of a public officer or employee, including the discussion of the Superintendent’s contract.

Pursuant to Texas Government Code Sections 551.071, to consult with the District’s attorney, in person or by phone, on a matter in which the duty of the attorney to the District under the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct of the State Bar of Texas clearly conflicts
with Chapter 551 of the Texas Local Government Code, including issues of the Superintendent’s contract.

VI. Return to Open Session for consideration and possible action regarding the Superintendent’s
contract.

VII. Adjournment
